Afrology is an insightful collection of royalty-free FL Studio 12 projects that have been designed by Sole Essential for anyone looking to either improve their music production skills on the surface or fundamentally understand the basic formulas and creative processes involved in the development of an Afro house music record.
Having said this, for the very first instalment of this here monthly series we have created an upbeat afro (soulful) dance record that’s nothing short of incredible.
The project, approximately one minute in length, is an exciting (new) exploration of the above-mentioned music sub-genre. Although it’s mostly comprised of African- inspired elements, it still leans a lot towards the old Brazilian salsa sound with a good selection of haunting vocal chants, heavy percussive drums and a smooth selection of harmonic, soulful chords, among other things.
In short, it’s basically complete, but you may still need to explore it a little bit further as a composer in order to include your own rhythmic elements and/or catchy vocals before you export it and declare it as a finished product.
