Cuebur’s Afro House Remix of Thandi Draai’s “Iris” Is Our Hot Pick For This Week
Hot Pick is a multi-layered music series that aims to highlighting the hottest dance records, music videos, and podcasts fashioned by lesser known – and/or somewhat established – music producers, recording artists and emerging remixers currently based in the African continent.

If you have been following South African afro dance music for more than five years, then you should already be familiar with the aforementioned artist’s name. If not, then allow me to formally introduce you to his music.
Nicholas Mboweni, better known simply as Cuebur, is an afro house music record producer, disc jockey, Soul Candi Institute of Music graduate and remixer currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He has been fairly active in the local music and entertainment industry for way more than a decade now and his most noteworthy hit singles include beautiful offerings such as the memorable heavy club banger “Pepe”, and, “No Doubt” to name but a few.

That being said, Cuebur has worked on various chart topping dance music projects, solo studio albums, and house remixes, among many other things, however, it is this particular afro dance music rendition of South African singer, songwriter, and female disc jockey Thandi Draai’s “Iris” that caught my attention just a few weeks ago and it just had to be featured as this week’s top selection for the weekly “hot picks” series.
Although “Iris” was officially released as a multi-track offering by an independent record label and dance music imprint known as Get Physical Music just a few months ago, it is mainly this six minute long house music presentation that stood out as a firm favourite amongst the bunch.

Having said that, you can simply check out a sneaky YouTube preview of the aforementioned record below to give it a quick listen and then consider dropping your honest feedback about it in the comment section further down below.
