Recommended Mix: Kisch’s Summer Sundowner (Hed Kandi)

Right, as you may already know, about two weeks ago I decided to open up a new mixcloud account – even though I am yet to upload any new mixes on the platform, I’ve been following a few interesting personalities and media companies, among other things. And, after spending a few good days going through some of those mixes and podcasts, I thought It would be a great idea to start another cool series here on the blog, as soon as possible – only this time I’ll be sharing a few interesting house mixes that we can find on the platform. And, to start things off I’ll be recommending a cool deep mix from Hed Kandi resident DJ, Remixer, Producer Kisch:
2014 saw his rise to prominence in the House music scene with a summer release of ‘Everything I Need’ released on The Shapeshifters’ label ‘Love Inc Music’. Within it’s first week of release it claimed #5 in the overall Traxsource House Chart. To add to this success Kisch was then asked by Ministry Of Sound to join Hed Kandi as a world-touring Resident DJ, and is now travelling across the globe to play at some of the world’s most distinguished clubs.
Early 2015 releases such as ‘Winner’ and his ‘Fillin’ Up With Love’ EP have cemented Kisch as ‘one to watch’, and an upcoming collaboration with The Shapeshifters is set for release this summer on Toolroom’s highly-acclaimed sister label ’Love & Other’.
Mentored by Ibiza stalwart Pete Gooding, Kisch‘s sound draws influence from all corners of the musical spectrum. He performs his own vocals across most of his tracks, whilst instrumentally you’ll hear hints of old Chicago House beats as well as modern influences from House music smashing it in the charts today. These sounds fused with warm sonic textures, infectious melodies and deeper, darker vibes from his Indie Rock days illustrate Kisch’s signature sound.
