Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter, Sannie Fox is my Top Pick for Woman Crush Wednesday
As a girl growing up in London Sannie Fox developed a talent for writing and playing music from a young age. By her early teens she was singing in recording studios and performing regularly. It was not long before a number of her songs and compositions had been featured in film, theatre, television and radio.
In 2010 Sannie Fox formed and composed for three-piece rock outfit Machineri and went on to release a critically acclaimed album mastered by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys) with all artwork conceived by the legendary graphic artist Storm Thorgerson (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin).
Sannie Fox’s music crosses an eclectic mix of artists and genres ranging from Screaming Jay Hawkins, to Led Zeppelin, Etta James, Patti Smith, John Lee Hooker, 70’s rock, fado, gospel, folk and Malian blues. She has collaborated and worked with a wide variety of local musicians ranging from Albert Frost to Derek Gripper, Madala Kunene, Busi Mhlongo, The Brother Moves On and Theo Crous. That’s why she’s getting me through the week by being my #WCW.
